Last summer my family and I decided it was time for an alternative to the usual beach, bar and burn holiday and opted for a 9 day break to Munich and surrounding Bavaria.
What a wonderful place! Firstly the people are really friendly, everything is very efficient - like the excellent transport system - and also spotlessly clean.
We booked our first three days accommodation in the UK and found it very easy to find cheap good quality hotels for the rest of our stay.
Also the general cost for eating out and admission prices seemed a real bargain compared to the UK.
There is so much to do in this area, safe cycle paths around the whole of Munich, beautiful parks, huge museums, an excellent Zoo and the highlight, the Olympic Park which was absolutely fantastic...
Not more than a couple of hours away and we were in beautiful countryside with castles to visit, lakes to sail and mountains to climb.
So many new and different experiences in one holiday was fabulous for us adults and left our children begging to return in the future.
So for an action packed holiday with plenty to do without spending a fortune, visit beautiful Bavaria!
