Great

We first stated going to Tropical hotel/studios 16 years ago.We did not go for a few years in between, but when we returned 4years ago,we were welcomed back like long lost friends. Yes we are now good friend with Sakis and Vcky who own the hotel. It has changed a lot in the last 16 years, all for the good.
We love Hainoti so much we have just bought our own apartment there. All with the help of Sakis and Vicky.
The staff have changed several times, but the good family atmosphere remains as good as ever. We would highly recomend staying at the Tropical in Hanioti.
If you want a really relaxing holiday then go to Hanioti, but if you want nightclubs (there area couple) then it not for you.

Good

Stayed at Angelos Hotel, everyone very friendly esp Hercules & Nick who gives excellent Greek lessons. Service staff very good Angelina being the best.

If you know some Greek words don't let on otherwise Hercules & Nick will do nothing unless you ask in Greek -- brilliant.

Recommened eating out -- everywhere except the Tajmahal, if you fancy a ruby wait until you get home. This place is a joke; if you got what we did (in the UK) you would not be happy. And we were not but what do you do????

Overall view = great, not Kardemena but do you want that, midnight comes and quiet. Good stepping off off point for trips to lots of places, we went on a boat trip to the next pennisula enjoyed every minute thanks to Captain Bob ( from somewhere in darkest Yorkshire (or Manchester way)
also on holiday.

Like everywhere we have been in Greece we found everyone to be friendly and verey helpful. Do not hesitate to recommend Hanioti especially Angelos.

We have just got back from spending two wonderful weeks in Hanioti in the Vicky appartments. These are family run and the family was very pleasant and helpful.

The resort itself was great, plenty of good places to eat & drink in,lovely beaches, and plenty of shops to browse in.
We would definately go back again, and stay in the same appartments. The local bus service was good, and the next resort is within walking distance only about 4km.
theres a Taverna half way if you find that your flagging a bit.

Upon entering the hotel I noticed that all the fire doors were held open by fire extinguishers and when we got into our room I looked at my wife, the disappointment with the room was obvious.

It was not the fact that the room was basic because that is all we wanted, however it was dirty and required some maintenance. The washroom had mould around the tiles. The stainless steel waste bin was rusty with dried urine and dust on the lid as was the toilet brush and holder. The washbasin was loose and the shower curtain was too small and had seen better days, the bedroom was dusty and one of the mattresses had a blood stain on it, but this was our honeymoon so with a tough upper lip we decided that we would brave it out "as us Brits do". A lack of facilities is acceptable; nonetheless, inadequate hygiene and general cleanliness levels were intolerable.

Later when taking a shower the shower head fell striking my head, upon inspection I found that it was broken and had been wedged in place with a small piece of material, I was lucky not to have been injured or even blinded. We found a water leak on the balcony from a tap located there, a 1 litre water bottle positioned to catch the drips was overflowing causing the tiled floor to become very slippery; however, the next day the hotel staff were kind enough to provide a 5 litre bottle which we only had to empty twice a day!

After a lovely day sight seeing we returned to our hotel room to settle down for the evening. It was 01:30 when we were woken by that famous Madonna No. 1 "Like a Virgin", yes we also had karaoke to put up with and this went on to 03:45. Most of the people who attended this function were not hotel guest but visitors from other hotels. The next day I spoke to reception they just passed a holiday brochure and quoted word for word " Some apartments may be subject to noise from the bar", I pointed out we were in room 206 which was the room furthest away and pointed out the fact that all the fire doors were held open by fire extinguishers exacerbating the noise levels. The response I received was extremely negative so I did not broach that avenue again.

During our 14 night "imprisonment" there were six occasions when we were kept awake by noise. These were 60's 70's 80's nights, Quiz and the famous and popular Karaoke night, plus one additional night when our neighbours were upset when they had their bag snatched, the hotel staff were not interested in the incident and told them to keep the noise down, this was the only time that they bothered about noise or I suspect maybe they did not want the other guests to be aware of the crime. How dare they!

Speaking to other guests I found that they were also unhappy; however, to my knowledge only two of the guests complained of which only ours was made officially to the holiday rep.

When we were waiting to leave, the comments book was passed around under the close supervision of the reception staff. I could not understand why this was never passed to me; however, I did notice that a number of guest did write positive comments although they complained amongst themselves about conditions earlier in the holiday, being too "British" to complain and turning a blind eye, and other holiday guest in the future will have to endure the holiday (Honeymoon) nightmares that we unfortunately encountered given that this was our special event.

The resort was good with plenty of choices of places to eat out, the beach was very clean, taking this into consideration We Would return again, however we would choose a better hotel next time.

Just returned from strand village and what can i say it has been the best holiday we have ever taken.

The staff were excellent, especially Leonardo who will keep all you women entertained, the apartments were the nicest we have ever stayed in and were cleaned everyday. The complex is really relaxing with a really nice bar and eating area. The food at the snack bar is very good and also cheap. The michael jackson night was a real laugh as was the karioke.
Dont worry about the beach, it is shingle but should not put you off as it is beautiful and not as bad as some of the previous reviews.
The town square is a short walk away with some really nice restaurants all at different prices, our favourite was the garden, where we never had a bad meal.
Overall as we said it was one of our best holidays ever and we will definately be returning next year and the year after.
So go relax and enjoy yourselves.

We were very pleased with the hotel overall. The location was fantastic - right on the beach, really nice big pool which was never overcrowded and we always managed to get sunloungers. Our room was basic but very clean and we were lucky enough to have 2 balcolnies. No kettle so take your own if you fancy a brew. Well worth paying the extra for use of the air conditioning and mimi fridge. The staff were really friendly and accomodating.

The resort of Hanioti itself great and is full of bars, shops and restaurants all of which stay open really late. When we got to our hotel upon arrival it was gone midnight and we walked the short distance into the main square to find everything still open and buzzing.

The Long Island bar was our favourite and we ended up in there nearly every night. Managed to watch both England games while we were out there in Long Island and in Love Street (another good bar).

Can well recommend doing the pirate ship cruise for the day. This was a full day on the ship with lunch included, stopping off at a beach for sunbathing and mad beach games.

I would definately recommend this resort and hotel for all ages and would definately go back there.

Most horrible holiday I ever have.

Second day od our stay in Olympic Kosma-Hanioti Greece maid stole our video camera and photo camera with adapter and cable, also our tapes and keys from closed door. In fact, what do you expect whet maid in this hotel are from Albania, Ukraina and Bulgaria. The ownes of the hotel send us to the police, who dont even want to come and made a report. The owner did not bother himseft even to apoint a meeting of his maid and staff, not even for our eyes.
You cant feel safety not even for yourself but also for your personal things!!!

Also, trey are very dirty....it is so dirty that you feel awful and very unpleasant when you should step in the bathroom.
The food was horrible....the maid always has problem with clean plates, spoons, knifes, glasses etc.... something is missing always!!! they serve only potatoes with notnig else...we didnt see meet for a 10 days. the fruit was serve in a small peaces that was not enought for 50 persont and there was in least 300 guests in the hotel.
The only thing that was good was the sea. it is fantastic....

The Hilltop Hotel was excellent. The rooms were of a good size & the pool area had ample sunbeds. The pool bar/snack bar was good & served very nice food although it only opened for a short time throughout the day. I can't remember the exact times but it was something like 12 - 3.

Staff & management very friendly & they own the Hanioti Palace Hotel along the road in Hanioti although the people staying there said out of the two this was the better one.

The weekly Greek night was also very good & they ferried people from the Hanioti Palace in the hotel's minibus.
Hanioti is a lovely resort the square is quite lively but not full of lager louts & there are many quieter streets off of the square.

Lots of good places to eat especially the big Pizza restuarant right in the square.
The only down side of the Hilltop is the walk to & from the hotel to the beach or village, it's quite a steep incline up a track which can be a bit much in the heat, but it wouldn't put us off going again, my Dad at 71 now may say different though.

Lastly the beach is fantastic, lovely sands & lovely bars which open at night with lights projecting out to sea so you can sip your drink while watching the fish jumping out of the water. (check the prices first though because some are very expensive).

50 bedrooms, family owned and run. Staff very friendly and helpful. Spotless throughout. We managed to get a real bargain via Thomson Easter Deals named accom. (only £200 pp for 2 weeks b&b). We were the first tourists to arrive on 1st May as their season only really starts mid May. Many shops & restaurants were closed for the first few days. It was very cold at night & warm clothing is essential (the shops that did open were doing a roaring trade in Fleece jackets). Daytime weather was glorious.

We hired a fridge from reception (42 euros for 2 weeks) and hired the air con to work as central heating for first 5 nights (cost around 3 euro per night) but then it wasn't needed. We also hired a car for 2 weeks and travelled the whole of Kassandra and the other peninsular, Sithonia. Very lush and breathtaking views over the mountains and found totally secluded beaches. Dinner at the hotel is fantastic value - 4 courses plus coffee for 7 euros (just book at reception by 2pm). Being a small hotel it takes no effort to know everyone and the staff are exceptional at remembering guests thus personalising their visits. We walked into Hanioti several times by cutting through a field which is partly lit, no effort into town and a slight incline most of the way back until the last few yards which are steepish steps. I have difficulty walking but still made it ok. Hotel arranges a quiz night and a Greek night - both are a good laugh in relaxing & brilliant atmosphere.

We are so smitten, we're going to try to book again for September this year.

Just returned from the Angelo Aparthotel,

Staff very friendly especially Hercules, always joking. The maid service was excellent, and the whole complex had nice gardens, and was always clean, read reports before we went that if you want an early night, go to the Angelo, had no problems with noise at all, everynight when we arrived back to the hotel, the gate was locked, and not a person in sight, apart from the security. The best for breakfast was zorbas, bacon was more like Gammon, and as much Tea & Coffee as you like, and was the cheapest. The best places we ate were Zorbas, The Old Tavern, the Mediterranean, and also Dynoisis, try the flaming Kleftiko, beautiful, also went to Kassandra which was more expensive, but the staff wasn't very friendly. Go to the Horseshoe Bar popular with English, nice Greek man called Nick, and Welsh Taffy, they pour a extra large Baileys, and also the Pina Colada's on the strong side, but very nice and good old English music. Had a couple of days of rain, but on the whole a good holiday, but not one of our favourites.

But would defintley recommend the Angelo good location, great staff & very clean, and make a effort to lay something on everynight.
