| Superb Beach, not the sort of place you can stay for too long as there's not much to do unless you love rain forests.

| Cape Trib is certainly a destination to be visited if you want to get a feel of the natural rainforest and it's inhabitants. There is no need to get overly scared or paranoid about those big spiders or snakes. Admittedly they are around but only in the depths of the rainforest and usually keep very clear of the human inhabitated areas and tours.

Cape Trib is wicked!! People are ovely paranoid about staying in the hut accommodations in the area. There really is no need. If you are a little queesy about spiders, then there isn't any more paranoi needed than if you were in a nice hotel room in Sydney!!
All accommodations (unless you tent it yourselves) is equiped with hinge doors that shut when not held open and have protective nets.
Just becareful when walking under 'right angles' that you're not walking into a web!!
Either way you can't miss the Orb spiders, they are the largest spiders on earth that weave webs (there are larger spiders but they are land dwellers).
Anyways, just wanted to make the point that you shouldn't let a great destination like Cape Trib be unseen by yourself due to a little arachnaphobia. Anyhow, remeber you are much much bigger than them and they're gonna be a lot more scared of you and thus will keep out of your way!!

Cape Trib is great for a few days but the novelty of avoiding spiders webs and living in hut accommodation paranoid about what's lurking near your bed has limited excitement factor.
Outside of rainforest tours which you can do from a number of Australian one-two day trips from Cairns such as 'Tablelands', Cape Trib has limited offerings and definately not for those who hate the sight of huge spiders (although they never come near you or venture outside of their webs) when your accommodation complex). If you delve into the rainforest, well, your in their territory then so expect anything.
The night rainforest tour is interesting as the above post describes, however it can be very uneventful and theirs no guarantees of seeing anything. Although you'd be unlucky not to see a few strange frogs, birds and a huntsman spider or ten. Lizards and snakes are also popular and likely to be seen. Don't be overly frightened of an evening rainforest tour as the guides are very good and you're in a tightly packed group. Although do resist the temptation to run off from the group and play an adrenalin game of 'Blair Witch Project' (it's not the witches you'd need to worry about).
Cape Trib and the rainforest are good places, always go on organised tours into the rainforest with a proper tour guide. Never get a group of you and adrenalin it without the pro's. You are in the world's most dangerous place for poisonous creatures and animals after all.

If you're up for a bit of untouched Austalia and nature then Cape Trib is a great experience. I stayed in Cape Trib for a week over Xmas 2002 in a great beach hut style accommodation. There's not much to do other than marvel at the rainforest and nature. Interesting trips include a rainforest tour (delving well inside the rainforest) and most interesting of all a 'Rainforest night tour' where you get to go into the rainforest at night and visit the nocternal animals. All you are armed with is a torch and a tour guide.
Important to note if you're an arachnaphobe then you'll probably hate Cape Trib. You will for sure see some pretty humungus spiders including the 'Golden Orb' (the largest spider on earth that weaves a web). There are bigger spiders around but they are land dwellers. Despite this it is important to note that you'll see spiders but they won't come near you and there's pretty much no chance they'll be found inside your accommodation due to window and door netting. Unless you're a bit careless and walk through a web, you'll only get to see the ugly ****** not get to feel them.
A trib to Cape Trib is a great way to see the natural Australia.
