We docked in Valetta on a cruise ship and spent a lovely day visiting as many places as possible in this short stay. It is a place steeped in historical buildings, churches, narrow streets, restaurants and busy shops. The Cathedral and the Palace were well worth a visit. The gardens at the top of the hill were lovely too. Once there, spectacular views of the bay and the area around Valetta could be seen. The climb to the top was quite a challenge for me, but there was a variety of transport available if needed, ranging from taxis, horse drawn carriages and the very memorable old fashioned yellow buses. The temperature in Valetta in October was higher than we expected - sun screen and hats are recommended! It was a most memorable and worthwhile place to visit for a day.
