Straddling the equator, nowhere else on earth will you find so much natural diversity in such a tiny place. Ecuador is the second-smallest country in South America and has an astounding variety of wildlife, birds and dramtaic landscapes. In a single day, a traveller can drive from the Amazon Basin across glaciated Andean volcanoes, down through tropical cloud forest and into the sunset for a dinner on the Pacific coast.
