Nestled between France, Germany and Holland/Netherlands, Belgium is one of the smallest countries on the continent. But its size is no hindrance to its variety. From the wilds of the Ardennes to the mediaeval splendours of Bruges, from the high-octane nightlife of Antwerp to the restaurants of Brussels, there is something for everyone to savour.

Beyond the capital city of Brussles with its impressive historic Gothic buildings and tall European Union office blocks is a wealth of undiscovered sleepy seaside towns, and inland the wooded gorges of the splendid Ardennes, sprinkled with medieval castles and steeped in folklore. For a taste of medieval architecture and atmosphere in time-capsule condition, Bruges is a well worth a visit. Brussels and Antwerp offer a different experience entirely and are both dynamic cities.

No matter where in Belgium you visit, the country has developed a fantastic reputation for its cuisine, especially its beer with more than 300-odd brews of it spread throughout its borders, there's always soemthing differen to taste. Belgians have a reputation for being delightfully hospitable and welcoming to travellers. Their distinct culture and heritage has been shaped from its distinct regions of Flemish Flanders (north) and French Wallonia (south).
