Over the years, Skegness has been and remains one of the most popular destinations for both family and retirement seaside holidays in the U.K. Extensive investment by both local authority and private resources has provided the resort with excellent modern attractions that are constantly improving. Coupled with a wonderful relaxing (or active) environment, level terrain, excellent night life, the resort provides an ideal venue for all age groups.
The Lincolnshire coastline, stretching from Skegness along to Mablethorpe is home to some of the finest seaside resorts in the UK. They have something for everyone: sun, fun, excitement and laughter, as well as tranquillity, peaceful activities, clean European award-winning beaches and glorious fresh air.
The resorts are famous for their warm welcome, outstanding value, friendly service and excellent choice of accommodation.
The area boasts three out of only 83 European Blue Flag beaches UK wide at Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea as well as also been awarded the Tidy Britain Group's Seaside Award.
Skegness can be found on the north east coat of England in Lincolnshire.
Fantasy Island Theme Park
There can't be many who know the Skegness coast line that haven't heard of, or been to, Fantasy Island at Ingoldmells. Offering every type of attraction from white knuckle rides, roller coasters and water rides down to small children's roundabouts, this park has it all. Set high on the horizon, a few minutes walk from the beach, the themed centre pyramid structure sets the tone for the rest of the park, making it an award winning family attraction. Eager to continue their development two new major attractions, Absolutely Insane and the very big and spectacular Eye on the Coast , were completed for the beginning of the 2004 season, both continuing to thrill all those looking for extreme experiences. There are also many more ride and stalls for you to try out both indoor and outdoor. Complimenting the theme park is Europe's biggest daily indoor and outdoor traditional market, The Eastgate, a bargain hunters paradise with massive savings on major brand names. With enough restaurants and fast food outlets to be able to satisfy any appetites or budget, they are too numerous to mention. Skegness pleasure beach -
has been run as a traditional seaside funfair since taking over from Billy Butlin in 1965, today it has a mixture of the new and old style funfair. Enter the pleasure beach and you pay one price for a "wrist band" and ride on the attractions as many times as you like. There are still coin operated machines, such as the amusement slot machines etc. and you will still need cash for the many fast food outlets available. Have a great day out for all the family, young and old. Skegness Pier -
This attraction is free to enter and is open all year long, with more games and rides than l can mention, from a full size bowling centre , Lazer Quest to Captain Kids adventure world, bingo, trampolines, American pool to mega slides. Visit the licensed Manhattan bar or dine at Dino`s or the variety of food bars all under the one structure, on Skegness Pier. Butlins Holiday Park -
This fabulous re-developed Butlins, right in the heart of Ingoldmells, with its majestic domes of the Skyline Pavilion adorn the horizon. Butlins offer all weather multi-sports courts, the Odeon Cinema, the Fun Splash as well as a mountain of other forms of entertainment, not forgetting the Red coats. A fantastic array of restaurants and food is available that will meet anybody's appetite. Skegness Stock Car Stadium -
Orby Experience the thrill of the seeing and smelling stock car racing at its best, from formula 1 and formula 2 stock cars down to banger racing this stadium does it all. This is a great day out for the family especially the fact that the track is oval so that everybody can see all the action all of the time. There are catering facilities, a bar and track shop. Events
