Once the site of an ancient town of the same name, modern-day Sani is a purpose-built resort located in an ecologically protected area with abundant wildlife. It is in a somewhat isolated position, with the nearest independent shops and half a dozen tavernas at the nearby village of Nea Fokea.

Set around a curving bay, on flat land between 2 headlands, one grassy and narrow, the other broad and wooded; flat open countryside and woodland on the inland side.

This resort generally attracts middle- to upmarket British and German visitors.

The area of Sani is very pretty, lots of woods and some lovely houses. You definitely need a car as it is quite isolated.

Sani is situated on the W side of the Kassandra peninsula, reached by a 5-ml branch road off the main coast road, 6 mls SW of the nearest village, Nea Fokea, 53 mls SE of Thessaloniki.

The beach consists of long, stretches of clean, pale sand, lined with sunbeds and parasols.

Water sports available for those not content to soak up the sun or swim in the clean, shallow waters.

Half day excursions and minicruises are popular around the local coastline, exploring some of the inland and fishing villages.

Need to travel for any sort of choice of shopping facilities although some can be found within hotels.

Activities are provided almost exclusively by hotels and include beach activities, tennis, archery, volleyball, beauty treatments and open-air cinema.

Beyond the hotels and some marina-based options, having a meal involves a journey of at least 6 mls.
