Quinta do Lago is the perfect backdrop to some of the finest championship golf courses in Europe. As if that were not enough, this idyllic location also offers horse riding, tennis, squash, clay pigeon shooting, deep water fishing, windsurfing and just about every other watersport, on the Quinta do Lago private lake beach.

This purpose-built luxury resort surrounded by four 18-hole golf courses and really is a golfers paradise.

At the West end of Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, with a sanctuary for rare and protected birds and a large man-made lake.

The resort essentially consists of 1 main road with 6 roundabouts linking up the individual complexes. Quinta do Lago has no public transport service. Car hire and taxis available via receptions. Quinta shopping centre is an upmarket mall with designer labels and boutique stores. Also includes a large supermarket.

An area which thrives on Upmarket golfers, bird-watchers and water-sports enthusiasts. Quinta do Laga is an affluent area consisting of luxury self-catering villas and apartments. Only one 5-star hotel.

Locality:

Situated on Portugal's South coast, 3 miles from Almancil, 13 miles West of Faro and its international airport. It is a fairly flat area backed by luscious pine forest. It can be found 3 miles South of the main national road.

Entertainment/Attractions/Things to do:

For sun lovers Quinta do Lago Beach is a long, wide stretch of sand directly in front of the resort. It can be reached only by a wooden footbridge next to a large car park. There is a restaurant and bar on the beach, plus a selection of water sports and an even greater choice closer to the lake.

During the day exhilirating watersports, peacefull golf, relaxing tennis, bird-watching, health club and riding centre are the primary activities. By night there is a nightclub and several bars which are located on the various complexes.

There are several independent restaurants, all of which are high priced but additional restaurants can be found on the majority of property complexes. Daily excursions can be booked locally to Quarteira.
