Overview:

The charming village of Port Douglas is located 60km north of Cairns International Airport, in Tropical North Queensland Australia.  The drive north from Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway has fantastic coastal scenery.

Port Douglas is the nearest mainland town to the Great Barrier Reef and the world heritage rainforests of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation are at your doorstep making this a popular vacation destination for both both Australian and overseas visitors.

Locality:

Port Douglas is in the far north of Queensland, (25 mls NW of Cairns and its international airport, along Capt Cook Highway. On the Coral Sea coast, overlooking the Great Barrier Reef and its islands, on a lick of land jutting into the sea; it sprawls a long way back along Port Douglas Road, the link road to Capt Cook Highway). It is backed by the Atherton Tableland, with the Mossman Gorge cutting into it just to the N and the Daintree River and National Park just beyond that.
