Overview:

With the sightseeing attractions of Lindos just 3km away down Rhodes' southeast coast, Pefkos should hardly be considered remote. Yet it seems a world away from the bustle of its bigger neighbour.

The beach is a fine expanse of soft sands and the village offers a very good range of restaurants, from traditional Greek to fish and chips.

This resort caters for the independent traveller, particularly budget and middle range, looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Car hire is highly recommended as the island of Rhodes is definitely worth exploring. The accommodation here is mainly apartments with a few family-run hotels.

Locality:

Pefkos lies midway down the east coast. (2½ mls SE of Lardos. 2 mls SW of Lindos. 36 mls SW of Rhodes Town. 38 mls S of the airport). Pefkos is set around a sandy beach, backed by hills.

Entertainment/Facilities/Attractions/Things to do:

The main Pefkos Beach is sandy with sunbeds, sun umbrellas and water sports. At the far end is a nudist beach. Lardos Beach has similar amenities but coarser sand.

There are several supermarkets and a handful of souvenir shops in the vicinty. There is also a butcher's and a bakery in Lardos. Otherwise, the nearest shopping area is Lindos.

During the daytime there are beach and water-based activities. Exploring the unspoilt south of the island is a must.

The nightlife here offers a small selection of bars and 1 disco, for a livelier night out Faliraki is nearby.

There are a choice of tavernas offering a Greek menu, but also international options and a Chinese restaurant.
