Jandia is a lovely resort located in the very south of Fuerteventura. This fabulous resort has many shops, bars and restaurants. Amazing beaches, boat trips, water sports and diving!
Jandia peninsula is a nature reserve separated from the rest of the island and bordered almost completely by vast beaches of white sand. To the west, the beaches of Barlovento, somewhat dangerous for swimming, remain almost wild. To the east, a large sandy fringe of some twelve and a half miles (20km) in length and over one kilometres wide in some areas, this is the site of two tourist resorts: Costa Calma, near the unequaled Playa de Sotavento, and Morro Jable, which is built around the port where the jet-foil departs for the island of Gran Canaria.
Jandia is on the coast, towards the south tip of the island, 39 mls SW of Caleta de Fuste, 47 mls SW of Puerto del Rosario. 44 mls SW of the airport). It is on a spine of dry hills running towards the narrow S extremity of the island, separated from the 20-ml-long beach by sand dunes.
The beaches are just unbelievable some of the largest on the island and breathtaking with the white sand stretching for miles (some as far as 35km) they truly look like a beach on a paradise island!
There is something for all watersport enthusiast, everything from jet skiing, surfing, diving, sailing and windsurfing - the windsurfing championship have been held on one of the beaches in Jandia.
